A few days ago journey Z was inserted in the base date of the Board Game Geek website. It is still very early so there is not much information, but I am posting on the official forum of the game a little of how it was to create it, the difficulties and things like that. So if you are interested a little about this I ask you to take a look there and participate in the discussion.

Game Page

Zombies are everywhere, chaos has spread throughout the city. You have to do everything to survive! Forge alliances and face the living dead with other players, or just think in yourself and leave everyone behind with tricky moves, because in the end there will only be one winner!

Survive the journey through the zombie world and claim your victory over your friends in this most entertaining apocalypse adventure. Journey Z can be played between three and five players. That is if you are ready for this journey!

Choose from twelve survivors to face the zombie apocalypse and prepare to fulfill goals inspired by several classic films of the genre. Be the most lethal zombie killer, or a cruel survivor who fights for all resources. Perhaps a doctor in search of a cure for this mysterious virus, or a zombie master using the living dead as his slaves.

No journey in this zombie world will be the same as another, and over time you will realize that the main enemy is not the living dead.

Meet the survivors

For beginners

Lethal with melee weapons and with a lot of health points the Enthusiastic Sportsman is a perfect choice for those just starting out. He can’t escape the living dead so well, but with these muscles he doesn’t even need to.

The Experienced Firefighter is not far behind in combat and to make it even better he already starts with an equipped weapon, which makes a lot of difference in the first rounds of the game.

For those who want a little more challenge

If you don’t care about ending up being hated by everyone, the Senior Lawyer is a great choice, his skills make him a threat to all players. But be careful, as you may end up being everyone’s target.

The Taxi Driver is not much without a vehicle, the same happens in the game. Until you get your hands on a car it’s a little bit complicated, but then nobody can stop you. He can also greatly disrupt other players’ plans by altering their positions on the board. You will only know how harmful this is when it happens to you.

For those who want to challenge themselves

The Disillusioned Drifter does not draw cards at the beginning of his turn, but when he changes his location he draws cards until he has four in hand. So don’t get stuck with what you have, use your cards constantly and stay on the move.

The Reckless Reporter and the Cameraman are an unbeatable pair, but until they are together you can have a little difficulty in the game. So try to have equipment that facilitates the purchase of cards to increase your chances of finding the Cameraman as quickly as possible. This is a tough survivor to play, but once it finds its mate it’s nearly unbeatable.

These are just six of the twelve survivors in the game, and others will join this journey later on.

The undead

A game of zombies would be nothing without them, so now you will see only a few of the various undead that will appear on this journey.

The rules

Curious about how the game works? Below you can read the rules of Journey Z, but remember that most of the fun is in the interaction between the players, and unfortunately this cannot be experienced just by reading the rules.

I hope you and your friends have a lot of fun with the game. And any questions please contact me (jogojornadaz@gmail.com) and I will try to answer as soon as possible. Soon you will have a list with the most frequent doubts to help you on this journey.

Before concluding I want to leave here a vision of what is to come.
